What frequency is Rainydawg Radio broadcasted on?
Rainydawg Radio is an internet only radio station. You will not find us on the radio dial.
What hardware do I need to listen?
In order to listen to the stream, you need a PC, Macintosh or Unix/Linux/X Windows Operating System. You also need a sound card, as well as speakers or headphones.
What players should I use?
We recommend using WinAmp for Windows users and MacAmp for Macintosh users. Many other players such as Windows Media Player, Quicktime and Real Player will also play our stream. If you are using Apple iTunes, be sure to upgrade to the latest version.
If you are a Unix/Linux user, try using xmms, xine or mpg123 to listen to our stream. Try typing "xmms http://stream.rainydawg.com:8000/high" or "mpg123 http://stream.rainydawg.com:8000/high" in a terminal to listen to our high-bitrate stream if the links on the web site don't work for you.
What should I do if get an error message when I try to listen?
Make sure you have the latest version of the necessary audio player. Often earlier versions become incompatible as our servers are upgraded. Also, please test other sites to verify that the player is working properly. Finally, the problem may be due to a server malfunction or a problem on our end. Please contact our Technical Manager, and give as many details as possible (error message or problem, your operating system and player version).
Your station rebuffers while I'm listening to it on-line. What's wrong?
If, in the course of receiving a stream of data from our server, your player runs out of data to play, then the player is forced to wait until it has received enough data to begin playing again. There are several different factors that could cause rebuffering but the most common problem is in the connection between your computer and our servers. Although our servers are fairly close to the internet backbone, the path that your internet service provider gives you to our server may be roundabout, causing delays in the connection. Try a lower speed connection if you continue to have problems.
Is the on-line broadcast time-delayed?
Yes, the on-line broadcast is time-delayed because of buffering in the system. The length of the time-delay depends on how much buffering is performed. It can be anywhere from three to 30 seconds.
