Twee Pop

This week's theme is twee pop! This is a subgenre of indie pop that originates in the UK and Olympia, WA in the 1980s. "Twee" is defined by Merriam-Webster as "affectedly or excessively dainty, delicate, cute, or quaint" and this is seen in twee pop via simple instrumentation and melodies, soft vocals, and lyrics that often revolve around the topic of love. This playlist includes some twee pop classics and some of my personal favorites.
